Ways you can get involved

Volunteering

Is climate anxiety getting to you? Feeling disconnected from nature? Keen to meet other passionate young people and do something positive for nature and wildlife? Or are you maybe interested in working in nature in the future? Join our Young Volunteers!

Our volunteer sessions, for people aged 14 - 24, will help you to develop practical and transferrable skills whilst learning more about local wildlife and conservation. We meet once a month on either a Saturday or a Sunday, usually at our amazing Grow Wilder site at 181 Frenchay Park Rd, Bristol BS16 1HB, with occasional trips to other regions if there is a conservation task we can get involved with elsewhere!

For more information please send Tish a message on Whatsapp on 07421226064  or email youngpeople@avonwildlifetrust.org.uk to find out details.

We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, safe and welcoming space for anyone aged 14 – 24 to grow their experience and confidence in nature, and to learn more about conservation careers.

Courses

We hold a variety of events, talks and workshops - some of which are free of charge, or have low-income spaces available.

Work experience

Unfortunately we aren't able to offer work experience placements. In the video below some of our staff talk about how they got into their role with Avon Wildlife Trust - covering roles in Communications, Practical Conservation, Wellbeing with Nature, and Community Engagement.

I enjoyed the project - it feels really good to help make a home for animals who might not have one. My favourite bit was doing the sawing and working with a hammer.
