Sunday 22nd September 2024

With a yellow weather warning and persistent heavy rain forecast we have taken the decision to cancel the task at Clapton Moor.

Sunday 18th August 2024

In a change to the venue, Gordano Valley Conservation Group are meeting Sunday 18th August at 10.00am at Moorend Spout in Nailsea.

Moorend Spout is a Nailsea Environment and Wildlife Trust (NEWT) reserve. We have a long standing relationship with NEWT, and as part of the Wilder Waterways project, each year we support them with some practical sessions. Moorend Spout is a wetland reserve, with a large area of meadow. The task on Sunday will be to continue clearing the meadow from the annual hay-cut, now that the ground is dry and the wildflowers have done their thing! We will mainly be using rakes and forks.

Meeting location:

Access to the reserve is just off a track on Pound Lane, Nailsea: https://maps.app.goo.gl/dQJYW4MbxqohETNU8. There should be ample parking along the road in front of the school as it’s the holidays. What3Words: face.skills.spoken

The Gordano Valley Conservation Group Work meet on selected Sundays at the reserve at 10am and finish between 12.30 and 1pm. See the full list of work days below. We provide all necessary tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
