This promise outlines the commitment made to members, donors and the public by fundraising organisations which register with the Fundraising Regulator. Those who register with the regulator agree to ensure their fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful. The standards for fundraising are set out in the Code of Fundraising Practice.

Our fundraising activities contact members of the public and individual supporters through a variety of communication channels, including in person, mail, email, social media, text and telephone. As a charity we protect the dignity of vulnerable people who choose to donate or raise funds for Avon Wildlife Trust.

Our board of trustees oversee all aspects of the governance and strategic direction of Avon Wildlife Trust. They give their time for free and bring a range of vital skills and experience to support our staff, volunteers and senior management team.

We treat our members and the public with respect, so for example we take care not to take advantage of the vulnerable, we don't use aggressive selling techniques. Avon Wildlife Trust is a member of the Fundraising Regulator and the Institute of Fundraising and we adhere to the professional standards of these organisations as a minimum, whilst applying our own standards above and beyond this.

Avon Wildlife Trust is the largest local charity working to protect wildlife and inspire people in the West of England area. We work across the four local authority areas of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. We care for 30 nature reserves, run educational and community programmes helping people of all ages connect with nature. We work with landowners to created connected landscapes for wildlife. We are part of the wider network of 46 Wildlife Trusts across the UK.
