About the event

Join us for a deep dive into Therapeutic Horticulture and Care Farming, where we’ll explore how gardening and farming practices are used to improve mental and physical health, led by where we’ll explore how gardening and farming practices are used to improve mental and physical health, led by Harley Wright.

Learn how these approaches support diverse groups, including those with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and more. Discover how small-scale farms and gardens can create healing environments through structured nature-based programs, enhancing well-being and fostering social inclusion.

Alongside this, we’ll touch on the broader Food Sovereignty Movement, highlighting local networks like the Land Workers Alliance (LWA) and Bristol Food Producers (BFP), working to build sustainable, agroecological food systems.

The event will include a practical session and tips for growing perennial crops, perfect for both market gardening and therapeutic purposes.

This workshop is part of an 8-week course called Grow Leaders we run 3 times a year. If you want to know more about the full course please check the links below.
