Multiple locations:
Clapton Moor,
Clevedon LaneClapton-in-Gordano, Bristol, BS20 7RJ
Weston Moor,
Behind St Peter’s and St Paul’s Church, Weston-in-Gordano, BS20 8PZ
We are looking to recruit additional dipwell monitoring volunteers to add to our existing group.
As a volunteer, you will coordinate with others to measure water levels in the dipwells on our Weston Moor and Clapton Moor reserves. Surveys are undertaken every other week on a Tuesday and typically takes around an hour, volunteers will always go out in pairs. We do not expect any one person to go out every other week, but having the availability to go out at least once a month would be preferred. The readings are used to help understand annual changes in the water table and form valuable baseline data for any potential future peatland restoration work. Measuring equipment is provided and full training will be given, all you will need are wellies and a willingness to walk in wet and windy conditions.
