One decade ago, we took on an unused smallholding in the Stapleton area of Bristol, and volunteers and local groups transformed it into a community and food growing hub rich in wildlife, where people can reconnect with nature, learn new skills and improve their health and wellbeing.
A beautiful, green oasis in the city, Grow Wilder is playing a vital role in our work to tackle the environmental and ecological emergencies. As well as planting and selling a wide variety of wildflowers and vegetation in its nursery for the benefit of local wildlife and communities, Grow Wilder offers volunteering opportunities for people to learn valuable conservation skills. It’s also the home of our Grow Leader course for those who want to take their knowledge of ecological land management, therapeutic wildlife gardening and organic food growing even further.
Fantastic progress has been over the past 10 years, but in recognition of ecological emergency we face, and given what a vibrant hub Grow Wilder has become, our vision for this site has evolved. We want to take it to the next level, to ensure we can bring about the urgent action needed for the restoration of wildlife.
